As a child, Merril Hoge dreamed of being a football player and playing in the NFL. Growing up in a small town in Idaho, that goal seemed unrealistic. But instead of believing all the people who were saying “No,” Merrill believed in himself. HE knew he could do it. HE knew his size didn’t matter. HE knew he would find a way. And he did – as a four-year collegiate starter forging national NCAA records and as a nine-year player in the NFL. In 2003, Hoge was diagnosed with cancer. A life-ending prognosis? Not a chance.
