(November 15, 2017) Litchfield, Illinois – Schutt Sports has reached a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the American Amateur Baseball Congress to become the Official Batters Helmet for the association and all of its members.
The AABC is one of the largest amateur baseball organizations and features nearly a quarter of a million players throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada and Puerto Rico.
“The leagues and teams that make up the AABC feature some of the most talented, eager and high profile young players in the world,” said Dianne Baker, National Promotions Director for Baseball/Softball for Schutt Sports. “This is an exciting partnership with the AABC and we’re can’t wait to get started with all their organizations. This sponsorship will give us tremendous opportunities and brand exposure to some of baseball’s most exceptional teams and athletes.”
AABC teams will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of high-performance helmets and protective gear from Schutt, including the AiR and AiR Maxx T lines of helmets. The AiR batters helmets feature Energy Lock Technology powered by the protection and performance of D3O®, a soft and flexible shock absorbing system. The AiR Maxx T helmet line features thermoplastic urethane (TPU) Cushioning – the same type of impact absorption material Schutt uses in its football helmets worn by nearly 40% of NFL players.
“We always strive to provide the safest and best equipment to our leagues and members,” said Richard Neely, president of AABC. “Now with Schutt, we accomplish that goal with an American made product. Dianne Baker and the entire team at Schutt are first class and go out of their way to accommodate our members with the best helmets on the market.”
All of the batters helmets in the Schutt lineup are made in the USA – manufactured, assembled and finished in the company’s facilities in Illinois. Schutt Sports is the largest domestic manufacturer of batters helmets in the USA.
Schutt Sports is one of the leading manufacturers of protective equipment in the world, including football helmets, shoulder pads, protective apparel and padding, and much more. 37% of the players in the NFL wear Schutt helmets, including over 50% of the skill position players in the league. Schutt Sports is the only major helmet manufacturer to advance beyond traditional foam padding, instead using TPU (thermoplastic urethane) Cushioning, which has been proven to absorb more impact across a wider variety of temperatures than any other helmet system on the field. Schutt Sports is also the Official Base Supplier to Major League Baseball and is the largest domestic maker of batters helmets in the USA.

Scientists have not reached agreement on how the results of impact absorption tests relate to concussions. No conclusions about a reduction of risk or severity of concussive injury should be drawn from impact absorption tests.
NO HELMET SYSTEM CAN PREVENT CONCUSSIONS OR ELIMINATE THE RISK OF SERIOUS HEAD OR NECK INJURIES WHILE PLAYING FOOTBALL.
Keep your head up. Do not butt, ram, spear or strike an opponent with any part of the helmet or faceguard. This is a violation of football rules and may cause you to suffer severe brain or neck injury, including paralysis or death and possible injury to your opponent. Contact in football may result in Concussion/Brain Injury which no helmet can prevent. Symptoms include loss of consciousness or memory, dizziness, headache, nausea or confusion. If you have symptoms, immediately stop and report them to your coach, trainer and parents. Do not return to a game or contact until all symptoms are gone and you receive medical clearance. Ignoring this warning may lead to another and more serious or fatal brain injury.
NO HELMET SYSTEM CAN PROTECT YOU FROM SERIOUS BRAIN AND/OR NECK INJURIES INCLUDING PARALYSIS OR DEATH. TO AVOID THESE RISKS, DO NOT ENGAGE IN THE SPORT OF FOOTBALL.
